EFLA Consulting Engineers recently won a contract for the engineering design of latest 90 km, 420 kV line in Blåfalli – Gismarvik, which will secure the power supply to Norway's second-largest aluminium smelter.
EFLA won the contract with top score
The line includes two fjord crossings, each 3 km long and Statnett's first section of Aluminium 420 kV towers developed in cooperation with EFLA. There is also a proposal to use the EFLA-developed CHS (Circular Hollow Section) towers in a section of the line with constricted line corridor. In addition, EFLA will evaluate if the height limit on Statnett's standard towers can be pushed from 50 to 60 m on a long crossing that will reroute the line around a local community.
EFLA won the contract with top score on quality from Statnett's evaluation team. The contract continues a long standing successful cooperation with Statnett and reinforces our team of energy specialists.
