Climate and Carbon Footprint
EFLA assesses climate and carbon footprints according to globally recognised standards, enabling companies to improve their sustainability.
Our carbon calculation approach
Climate and carbon footprints can be calculated for individual products, or for companies on a yearly basis. For products, EFLA follows the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) approach. This is set out in the international standards ISO 14040 and ISO 14044 on life cycle assessment, and ISO 14067 on the carbon footprint of products. Following these metrics allows for comparison between products. For companies or organisations, we follow the Greenhouse Gas Protocol (GHG Protocol), which is the world's most widely used standard in this area, we also follow ISO 14064 on greenhouse gases. It is used to measure and manage direct and indirect GHG emissions from all kinds of sectors, municipalities and value chains.
